Marriage License
Let’s make it official! Depending on your state and jurisdiction, a marriage license can range from $90-120!
Alterations
You’ve been working on your fitness and you’ve lost weight. Now you need your dress altered. This is not an area that you want be cheap with. Get referrals or use the in-house seamstress but keep in mind that this can vary greatly depending on style of dress, embellishments, extent of alteration etc.
Bridal Accessories
Broches, Tiaras, shoes, veils etc. All of the accessories you’ll need to complete your look will add up!
Paper Products
RSVP Cards, Thank you cards, Save-the-dates are traditional costs to consider. The digital age can help you reduce some of these costs, but prepare to spend those coins!
Postage
No matter how modern you are, USPS will be helping you throughout your wedding process and the cost of stamps currently at $0.49 you can easily spend $300-400 just to let people know.
Food for the day-of
Even though you’ve hired the best caterer in the city, Mcdonald’s may still have to hear from you. The day of wedding can be as long as a work shift and not eating is not an option. Be prepared to feed the entire bridal party and some family and friends.
Day-Of Coordinator
This is really a priceless option, but may literally be the most forgotten component of a successful wedding. Having a “Day-of” coordinator allows you the opportunity to truly enjoy your day!
Tips and Gratuity
Most vendors do add this into the cost of service, but for those who don’t be prepared to pay at least 20%. Also, this will most likely have to be paid in cash.
Rehearsal Dinner
Even the most DIY bride will have to pay something for the rehearsal dinner. Ask family members if they’ll be willing to host, keep the alcohol low and make foods that appeal to a wide range of people.
Officiant
Even if it’s just a gift to say thank you, don’t forget to budget in your pastor, rabbi, friend, officiant be prepared to pay something towards their efforts. If they come from out of town, consider their travels costs and hotel.
